Sean's Bio

Aloha and Welcome to the iDEAS Lab!

Sean Connors has been teaching technology to students in Hawaii for over 15 years.  As a student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, he got the teaching bug when he mentored incoming freshmen as part of the Access to College Excellence (ACE) Program.  After graduation, Sean taught technology classes at St. Francis School in Manoa to 6th-12th graders.  He taught keyboarding, computer literacy skills, web design and cinematography classes.  Mr. Connors also was fortunate enough to be able to work with teachers in integration technology tools into their curriculum, administer the student information database and manage the schools technology lab of computers and equipment.

In 2010, Sean was honored to be asked to join Le Jardin Academy to help grow the Middle Years Programme (MYP) Design Technology Subject Group . During his two first years, he taught MYP 3 and 5, before moving over to MYP 1-3 this year.

Teaching Design Technology to Middle School and High school students is a dream come true.  He enjoys helping students showcase their creative talents as they grow to become problem finders and problem solvers. He appreciates the advantages and challenges that technology brings to the classroom and recognizes how important it is to teach students how to use technology safely and appropriately.

Mr. Connors also fills the role of Educational Technology Coordinator for the LJA campus, excitedly working with teachers to incorporate technology as a tool to support learning in the classroom.  He has been able to serve as a member of the LJA School's of the Future committee that works to provide professional development for teachers and curricular support tools to the classroom.

Sean has plenty to keep him busy outside of school.  He loves spending time with his wife Kristen and their daughter Marley, who began preschool at Le Jardin Academy last year.  Sean loves to read sci-fi/fantasy books, use his iPhone and iPad, and play/coach Ultimate Frisbee with the LJA Ultimate Team (Chomp).
